Expedited Sourcing of Products – It’s Important

Being able to find products to use in your e-commerce business is something you have to be able to keep up with quickly. You need an on-going supply of items. There are several types of e-commerce products you’ll need to know how to source, depending on your business model.

The first are those you buy from a source to resell online, whether it’s from your domain or on a site like Amazon. Make a list of categories within your niche that might contain products you can profit from.

For example, if you are in the fitness niche, you may want to have a category for home gym equipment, supplements, wearable fitness technology, and fitness apparel. Then, have a list of suppliers on hand that you can source from whenever you need to, especially when another source dries up or is on backorder.

You don’t want there to be any delay in getting the products that you need to list in your store. There are some platforms online that will help you with a drop-shipping strategy if you don’t want to store the inventory and have to ship it yourself.

But you still have to know where to source the products from so that you can create listings to connect that source to your customers. There are also some tools that you can use that will quickly give you data on product sourcing information, including which ones are in demand, and they will even estimate your profit potential for each item.

Do Your Research

When you get your list of product ideas, you want to do a little quick research for the marketplace to see how these items are selling on other sites such as Amazon, Etsy, or elsewhere.

You may be able to go straight to the manufacturer in some cases and negotiate a good deal to buy in bulk and have things shipped straight to you rather than having to go through a middleman.

Networking is an important skill to have whenever you are creating a rapid product sourcing strategy. It’s good to be able to directly reach out to a representative that you have built a good relationship with so that they can prioritize your needs in getting the supply you’re after.

If your e-commerce business is for digital goods, you might be creating the products yourself, or you might just have an inventory of products that you can sell to your target audience that someone else created.

Save Time And Effort

It takes longer for you to brainstorm, outline, create, and edit your own content than it would if you were to buy ready-made eBooks and courses instead. You can find reputable private label rights (PLR) sellers who have products ready for you to use in your business.

These often include more than just the eBook. It will typically include the sales letter, a lead magnet, the landing pages for both, and traffic-generating elements such as blog post articles and social media content that you can use to drive traffic to the offer.

Many of the top PLR sellers also have all of the graphics you will need, and many will repurpose the content so that you have text, audio, and video elements to use or sell in your e-commerce strategy.

ClickBank, Warrior Plus, and JVZoo

You can also find other digital products that are ready for you to sell on platforms like ClickBank, Warrior Plus, and JVZoo. Look for products that have resell potential. If you don’t have the opportunity to put your name on something and resell it to your audience, at the very least you will be able to find affiliate marketing opportunities for your e-commerce efforts.

When you go to these platforms, you can often filter your searches so that you can sort by certain topics, media formats, price points, commissions, and so on. This makes the process faster for you.

You can also sign up for notifications so that whenever a vendor you like launches a new product, you will be one of the first people to know about it, so you can prepare your online promotions early.

If you have the money to invest in your e-commerce business, you can also begin working with several ghostwriters who can be working on projects for you in the background as you launch other ones publicly.

If you go this route, you need to make sure that you evaluate their profile and portfolio to ensure the quality matches what you want to represent your brand. You also need to have strong communication with the freelancer to ensure they know what your schedule is for deliverables and your expectations.

Regardless of what you are sourcing as your products to sell or promote, you want to make sure that you keep track of the inventory. Whether you are using a specific system that manages inventory and tracks the number of items left, or you are simply using a spreadsheet, you need to be able to quickly update and glance at what you have available whenever you need to run a promotion.
