Quick Site Setup for Ecommerce Sales and Promotions
The way you set up your e-commerce site is going to depend on the specific business model you want to pursue. It’s going to take longer to set up your own online store than it would to simply install a WordPress blog and begin reviewing products as an affiliate marketer.
But if you want to take a fast-track approach, you want to look for a platform that’s going to be easy to use without any complex coding. With most platforms today, the process is fairly simple, and they usually come with step by step instructions and a knowledge bank or community that can help you make quick work of the task.
You may want to go with a platform like ThriveCart, WooCommerce, or Shopify if you’re running your own store. Some people prefer to use e-commerce for a membership, so you can consider AMember instead.
Keep in mind that you are going to be able to see feedback online about how easy or difficult it is to use these various platforms. Ideally, the solution you select will have built-in templates that you can use to quickly get a site set up and operational as you make tweaks and changes to the branding and style, assuming they allow customization of the template.
If time is of the essence, you can look for options to have the company set up your e-commerce store. For an additional fee, they might have an option where they do the work for you and you simply log in and take over after it’s in working order.
You want to connect payment options such as PayPal and Stripe to your web site, and the process is typically as easy as connecting it with the push of a button and verification of the account.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Once your site or store is set up on your domain, you want to make sure that it is optimized for search engines. It has to function technically and also be able to present itself accordingly, regardless of what browser or mobile device the end user is on.
You can use online tools that are free to test your site and make sure that it is optimized for good performance. It will tell you if the site is loading slowly or if there are any broken pages or links.
Install your analytics tools if you are using anything other than the typical cPanel options. This will allow you to quickly take a glance at the activity on your e-commerce site and see what strategic changes need to be made in order for your profits to rise.
One thing you may want to do with an e-commerce store is have artificial intelligence installed so that a chat bot can represent you at all hours of the day for your global audience.
You can configure it so that the chat bot can answer frequently asked questions with a response that you tailor to the user’s needs. That way, you’re not having to deal with a large influx of customer service emails, and the prospective customer doesn’t have to wait for a response, which will often cause them to look elsewhere.
